A Special Tribute To

Our Friend Jerry Tucker

On June 19, 2018, our dear friend Jerry Tucker passed away. Jerry became involved with Equine Voices in early 2005, after he and his wonderful wife Kathy visited the sanctuary. They were looking for land to help rescue female greyhounds from inhumane treatment and inhumane breeding practices. Shortly after, Jerry became closely involved with Equine Voices and was appointed as one of our Board Members. Later Jerry became Chairman of the Board until he retired in January of 2018 so he and Kathy could make more time for travel. It was then that Jerry and Kathy generously donated the adjacent five acres and visitors center as the horses were so near and dear to their hearts.

Jerry was our leader, mentor, coach, and was an integral part of our rescue mission. Jerry was a dear, dear, friend. A person who was loved by many people, respected by every person who crossed his path, and was a true warrior for the animals. Although greyhounds were near and dear to his heart, he had room for all animals and was a strong advocate for their fair treatment. Jerry was involved with Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption, Grey2K USA, Southern Arizona Humane Society, the Desert Museum and the Tucson Wildlife Center.

It is hard to believe Jerry is no longer with us. This world has lost a leader, friend, and advocate. He is missed dearly.

In lieu of flowers, Jerry's wife Kathy has asked that donations be made to:

Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption

Rest in Peace Jerry. You will always be in our hearts, and you will never be forgotten.
