Greetings Guest,

Look at any list of top learning trends this year—ours included—and you’ll find personalized or adaptive learning somewhere on the list.

And it’s no surprise that personalization is coming into focus: Competing for employee mindshare is tough. Offering tailored learning programs that are relevant and timely seems to hold promise.

For all of us in L&D, adaptive learning is an important topic. But it’s also a daunting one, as the conversation inevitably turns to the technology required to make it happen.

In this newsletter, we offer you an article by one of our amazing teammates, John Cleave, PhD, eLearning Technologist—or as everyone calls him, Cleave.

This article is really good.

Why? Because it’s an enjoyable read, and in about 10 minutes you’ll be up to speed on the concept of using detours in adaptive learning. Cleave not only shares the why and the what, but also the how—and the good news is, it’s not hard to implement.

Enjoy.

Good things,

Use Detours to Drive Adaptive Learning

One of the biggest learning trends for 2018 is adaptive learning. In this in-depth article from SweetRush eLearning Technologist John Cleave, you’ll learn how and why to use detours in eLearning. It happens very naturally when you’re coaching or in the classroom, and with a little forward-thinking and intention, you can bring this adaptive learning technique into online learning, too!
